Update on Colton's Ears

So I realized I had not updated the blog on the latest adventures with Colton and his ears so here goes. Two weeks ago his right tube fell out:( The very next day he had green slime dripping out of that ear so the doctor made him go back on an antibiotic that you put directly in the ear. We then went in to see him the next week and the infection was still raging so he then took a sample of the goo and said he would test it to see what it was. I asked what to do in the mean time and his response was to wait and see. Three days latter I called his office to find out and the nurse told me that the doctor would fax in a prescription. I asked what the infection was and she had no idea. So all I know is Colton has an infection and he is on yet another oral antibiotic. So my goal for this week is to find a second opinion from a different ENT. I an pretty sick of waiting and seeing:( I will update when I know more.

Isn't he the cutest!!

Mariah's New Toy (haha)

video
Yes it is true the Conk family is now a proud owner of a four wheeler. Dustin has been drooling over it ever since we got home. We found our great deal in Portland so we drove down there Friday night and stayed with Dustin's friend from high school and got the four wheeler Sat and then drove home. It was actually a nice break. All three of the boys love "my" four wheeler. Camdin just wants to sit on it 24-7 and anytime Colton sees it he convulses with excitement. So far we haven't had any neighbors complain about our trips around the yard:) Now that we have the four wheeler we can't wait until our trip to Bear Lake to really ride it.

Notice the boys matching camo hats:)

Colton's Fist Trip Forward

video

We turned Colton's car seat around this weekend. (Yes we are two weeks early he doesn't turn one until May 13th) We just couldn't wait we went on a trip to Oregon and he was not tired. Anyway you can tell from the video he loved it.

Fair Fun!!

We all headed out to the fair on Friday (even though it was raining.) It ended up being a pretty nice day. Camdin had so much fun looking at all the animals getting his face painted and riding a couple rides.

Poor Colton and Paka watching the dancing horses, the music was so loud.

Tulip Festival

Dustin's parents came to visit us this week so we have been out and about doing all kinds of fun things. The first day we went to the Skagit County Tulip Festival in Mount Vernon. It was a pretty warm day high fifties so we all had so much fun waking around seeing all of the beautiful spring flowers. Camdin did really good most of the time with looking at the flowers and not touching. Not all of the tulip fields were in full bloom yet they said probably next week. I will have to see if I can talk Dustin in to coming back:) If you have never been it was a truly beautiful sight well worth the drive.

This trip Camdin instantly warmed up to his Grandma and Paka.

Happy Easter!!

We had a great Easter. It was just our small little family this year. We had so much fun because Camdin is staring to understand holidays now and he had a blast finding eggs that the Easter Bunny hide. We enjoyed dying eggs and of course had an indoor water gun fight.(It was rainy the whole day:( )

My Little Monkeys

It was getting to quite downstairs so I went to investigate and found this. Colton is taking after Camdin in climbing up on everything. And if he can't get up there by himself I have seem Camdin come and give him a boost. Such fun boys. I am really going to have my hands full when Colton starts to walk which, might be soon because he took his first 3 steps on Sunday.

Play Group Easter Egg Hunt

It is finally spring here in Seattle!! Yeah:) This winter has been so wet and rainy it was so nice to have a break form it. The boys and I enjoyed every minute of it outside playing. We went of bike rides walks played at parks and tried to get some yard work done. On Tuesday we went to our play group Easter egg hunt. The boys had so much fun playing with their friends having a picnic and of course finding candy filled eggs. Thanks Erin for setting all of it up it was so much fun.

Searching for Eggs!!

Wanting to stop in the middle to eat the eggs:)

One Year Mark

We have officially been in our house for one year. And boy has our remodel come a long way. Many may not know that we bought a foreclose house last March and we have slowly been remodeling it. We still have lots more to do but I thought I would show everyone how far we have come.
We started out with the ceilings. We scraped pop corn off of just about 1700 square feet of our ceilings. That part was terrible because it was messy and really hard because the people before us painted over it so it was like chipping plaster off of the ceiling. We then moved to the floors. We took out ugly tile and laminate wood flooring and smelly carpet and replaced it with ceramic tile and carpet. It turned out looking great! We took out all of the old doors and have put up pretty six panel doors and of course new shiny chrome knobs. We have also been adding trim in every room (this project is not quite finished). Dustin also made himself a custom garage with all kinds of tools and matching cabinets. And of course the downstairs bathroom just got finished last month. Take a look at our finished product and tell us how we did (I mean mostly Dustin). Our goals for year two of the remodel is the kitchen and outside (if we get really ambitious I would love to do the up stairs bathroom but I have a feeling that will be year 3). We are putting in new counter tops and restraining the cabinets. Outside we are building a shed, putting in a swing set for the boys, planting a garden and making a recreational fire pit. I will let you know how all that goes.
